The Canadian Hydrographic Services (CHS) nautical maps # 1431 and 1432 cover all of Lake St-François. We recommend that you pick up a copy of these maps to keep on board with you at all times.
Coming in from the Saint-Lawrence Seaway, the entrance of Saint-François Bay is at the junction buoy level (approx. LAT 45 13.875N - LON 74 11.342W). Follow the channel to the buoy marked starboard DV4.
When you enter Saint-François Bay, ALWAYS keep the red buoys at starboard. BE CAREFUL.
You must pay serious attention when you navigate at night in the access channel of the bay. When you approach Valleyfield, some of the light signals of certain buoys will blend with the lights from the city. You must be really careful. Please note that not all buoys have a light signal.
Beware!!! An underwater concrete quay is located at starboard buoy (red) DV12! Consult your map.
The entrance of the canal is on starboard, between the marina and the Parc Sauvé (approx. LAT 45 15.357N - LON 74 08.590W).
